At the end of April a German couple had asked me to assist them in the purchase of Real Estate in Naples. In a very nice neighborhood on the west side of US41 they found a lot they liked with an old home (tear down) on it. The seller accepted their offer. The size of the lot was approx 1500qm.We researched and found a building contractor who showed us two of his ongoing projects at the time. Before signing any contract with him he offered the coordination and planning of the couple’s future home.  

Even before the sale of the property came to closing an architect had already been chosen to contact the buyers. After numerous phone call and email exchanges the first plans were developed and by mid June all details were already worked out.

Here are some property details:

• One-story with approx. 3000 sq ft under air
  

• 2 car garage

• Covered lanai area approx. 300 sqft

• pool  (approx. 33’ * 12’)

• screened-in lanai and pool area approx 2000 sqft.

• 15 ft ceilings in living area and 10 ft in all other rooms

• Keywest-style home with metal roof and wood trim

After the closing in the beginning of June the contractor ordered the lot to be cleared. After receiving all permits needed to clear the area old trees and bushes etc were also removed.

The buyers/ builder had planned for a 2 week vacation in Naples for the beginning of July. The building contractor had mapped out a pretty hefty budget at first since several items of interior/ exterior materials were still not decided on. During the first few weeks several specialty shops were visited to look for the following items:
