The Philharmonic Concert Hall
in Naples
counts as the venue to cultural events
in Southwest Florida.
The main hall opened in 1989 offers place for 1425 spectators. Here
approx. 400 arrangements take place yearly. There are also Broadway
musicals, operas, classical concerts, ballet performances as well as
the appearance of high-class single interpreters.
The Naples Philharmonic Concert Hall has its own orchestra with 85
members, who have won international recognition. The orchestra has
already accompanied artists like Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea
Bocelli.
Some of the major highlights of the season 2007/2008 are the
musicals “Cats”, “Jesus Christ, Superstar” and “Gypsy”, the operas
“Tosca”, “La Bohème” and “Madame Butterfly”, the Irish musical “Lord
of the Dance”, the Miami city ballet and the Russian Ballett, the
appearance of the Jazz-Singer Queen Latifah, the violin virtuso
Itzhak Perlman and the classical pianist Yundi Li.
The entry price is anywhere between 40 and 150 dollars. The
Philharmonic Concert Hall is between the
Waterside shops and
Pelican Bay.
The Phil also hosts a museum of the arts which is stated later on.
